ABOUT
PERFORMING
Originally founded in 2005, The Vocaholics were established by students interested in exploring the world of acapella. Today, we count 14 to 18 Vocaholics in our ranks each year and perform an eclectic mix of music, ranging from Rihanna to Florence + The Machine. Central to the Vocaholic dynamic is the importance of friendship and a supportive network for all members’ academic and extracurricular endeavors. Alumni involvement at our concerts has been growing ever since the group’s conception. This large network of Vocaholics makes each of us feel a part of something larger than ourselves.
Among our most cherished traditions are “park sings”— concerts historically planned due to a lack of adequate performance spaces. We continue this practice in conjunction with our scheduled concerts to this day to take advantage of the opportunity to sing in and around the many unparalleled landmarks New York City has to offer. Other notable places the Vocaholics have performed at include the New York Society for Ethical Culture, The Museum of the Dog, and even our presidential debut for President Obama at the White House’s holiday concert series in 2012.

COMPETING
The Vocaholics have displayed their remarkable talent time and again throughout their competition history. Most recently, they won first place at the 2023 SingStrong Collegiate Competition. This win adds to their commendable history, which includes being 3x ICCA Northeast Division Semifinalists.
RECORDING
The Vocaholics recently celebrated the release of their first EP, entitled “Wandering,” which can be streamed on both Spotify and Apple Music. The EP features an exciting blend of genres, with tracks ranging from Rihanna to FKA Twigs. The second track on the EP, “Dancing With The Devil,” was included on the 2024 Best of Collegiate A Cappella (BOCA) album.
The Vocaholics have three other albums also available on all streaming services, and are hoping to record more in the near future.
